I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think people must be given help and support. I think that the focus should be helping people. Let the sorrid stories be told by them. This will accomplish bringing to light the wrongs of the WTBS. Once a record is available of the offense what good comes out of other people restating the obvious? ( sincere question ) I feel if the effort goes toward focusing on the damage to the individual and those with a similar experiece can offer whatever healing advice has helped them.
I agree as well that we will hit critical mass, and I don't feel it will take 25 years. Tort lawyers will drool over the Manhatten properties and their value. I feel this along with dropping donations are the reason for the move to Patterson. WTBS is an emotionless organization, and as such it is no doubt creating a damage control dept complete with a legal defense fund. There is quite simply no where for them to hide from the internet. It will grow and grow ( are we striking a tone with monitering Bethel boys? ) just as so many taboo subjects that have hovered in the dark in the past are now spoken of and dealt with quite openly.

I welcome any thoughts from those of you who have something of merit to say. I have some good feedback so far, but any comments refining my thinking are welcome. The rest I think I'll just ignore from here on, little too much bloated sense of personal insight on the part of some. I don't claim to have all the answers. Any serious discussion on the points I have espressed I welcome.

Since I started the thread I thought I would make it easy to identify my answers/comments. But thank you for the, no doubt, well intentioned advice just the same. Do you see the irony in feeling free to comment on a choice as trivial as font color and yet you condemn the WTBS doing the same thing in peoples lives? Who's the newbie. If you are going to leave it behind, leave it ALL behind.

One more thing, I in no way mean to trivialize the pain of anyone. I feel sad for all the pain the WT has caused and continues to cause. They are just one in a long line before them and no doubt after them. My spouse( < intentionally vauge ) has made the same argument about how mad - has become. - came into the B org early in life, me late. I have seen how the power and the pain is stronger the earlier it came to affect you in life.
As far as thinking people are idiots. That is unkind to say, I think people are generally trusting and good. If someone wants to exploit that, it doesn't make that person and idiot because they were victim 'izable'. It makes this 'real life' plain and simple. The best we can do is try to avoid things like that, but when they do, try to learn from them. Life is too short to not move on as quick as we can.
Someone also said, "empty the mental hospitals with that thinking". Give me a break. I'm not claiming that persons with clinical issues can be cured by shouting "get over it!" at them. Conversly, they will not be helped by people who have no professional training in the area of their particular abuse/problem.
Don't vilanize me, if ANYONE felt comfortable with me and talked with me about their problems & pain, I would "weep with those who weep" and go on to offer whatever comfort I could for your pain. I wouldn't use it as a soap box to air my own laundry.

No, I don't think that the victim's are to blame. But you are going to get NOWHERE when there is no one in authority who is directly responsible for policy. Someone used the term con man, WHO is the con man here. I never said their is not a responsible "entity". I didn't say there is no victim. But there is soooo much energy spent on things that do NOT help the healing and growth process.
I had a dealing with a con 'woman' that took me for $27K, yes she was good, she appealed to things I wanted and "I" & I let her in. She ended up going to jail for doing the same thing to other people which totaled over $700K. It made me a feel a little better when I was on the witnesses stand. But I still had to pick up the peices. Had she not been been prosecuted I would have just stalled my financial recovery focusing on the reasons WHY WHAT SHE DID IS WRONG and how she should stop. NO ONE is listening. Especially when their means of life (Bethel) would be dismantled in the end. I can fully understand empathetic support. But that support should focus on your personal damage with a goal toward recovery and how best to assemble your life from x point. I doubt there are few here that have not read Crisis of Conscience & Search for Christian Freedom. In all Franz's musings he never really attributes blame to one person with wicked intent. ( I'm not ignoring the fact that Rutherford was no doubt a pr*ck by most assesments ) He in fact says that religious reform movements eventually tend toward a core of central authority with depressing consistancy and results. Did/do they use mind control tactics on purpose or not? Who cares, what will get you free of it! Are they aware of the pain they caused by allowing some person to be abused and their accuser go free with no repurcusions? Some may, and with the exception of a the descendants of Hitler, I don't think anyone who is given the opportunity to hear the effects of some policy they laid down would not feel genuine remorse and wish their was something they could do. Now excuse me if that presents the WTBS in a favorable light for a second. But you must consider that it has simply become a beaurocracy, unfeeling, uncaring & remote. This doesn't mean there are not real people with real good intent inside. The same is true of the US government. Do you really think most people go into politics thinking of slush funds and bribes? Fred Franz ( I beleive ) said, "if we give them that much freedom there is no telling what they will do." You are now thinking like them. People are for the most part good, and don't wish evil on you. Organizations on the other hand are a complex beast that have no human emotion.
In the end, my point is this. This is how it should play out, you know you got screwed, then you find out who did it, then you get pissed, sad, THEN it's time to do something about it for YOU. Find where you have been dumped and run like hell to catch up with your life. There is much life destroying energy in hate and contention. Find who you love, what you love & pour all your heart and soul into that. Don't forget your past, learn from it, be determined never to let it happen again. But if your past is a nightmare, don't spend your time living in it. Leave it behind and move on.

If it was not them there would be something else that 'filled their need' and would have ensnared them. The Jews in Jesus time didn't sit around whining about the rules that the Pharisee's ( < spelling ) set up. It was a fact of life. The rules are great if you are a pharisee cuz you get all the perks. The let down comes when you realize you will never be one, or if you are one, when you suddenly stop one day and realize what that you got caught up in some stupid ritualistic routine after you have already wasted many years on it and hurt a lot of good & not so good people along the way. The fact remains, Jesus left a model for us to follow, nothing the misguided in Walkill can say affects that basic truth. OK, flame on.
